COUNCIL TAX IN HASTINGS
The CONSERVATIVE BOROUGH COUNCIL have kept the annual increase of council tax to below 2% for 2010. This is the LOWEST council tax rise for a decade.

What would you say are the biggest changes we
need locally?
Well, the number one change I’d like to see is the reversal of Labour’s decision to downgrade our local hospital services. My petition against these NHS cuts was signed by 3,000 people – sadly all ignored by
Labour.
Anything else?
I’ve spent time with the police on the beat and helping in our schools and local hospital. They all need less paperwork and more freedom to do their job.
What about the by-pass Labour have promised for so long?
Isn’t it funny that our Labour MP has suddenly started talking about this again. You’d think there was an election coming. People will know that after 12 years without action, Labour’s words mean nothing.
And finally, the campaign you’ve been running for better train services, how’s it going?
Local commuters have been let down by Labour. Services are too expensive and we’ve now got fewer services costing more! I am pleased we’ve managed to keep some of the fast trains to London, but there’s more do to.
